홍콩여행 향항 2일차, 지사 방문후 영어학원 등록

 

이글은 1996년 홍콩지사 연수시절 3개월의 이야기를 담은 메모지와 노트에서 블로그로 옮기는 글입니다. 빛바랜 글이지만 옛추억이 담겨 있는 소중한 기록이라 디지털로 남겨 보관하는 중입니다.

 

지난 1일차 포스팅에서는 홍콩에 도착한 날 연수기간 3개월의 숙박을 예약했던 침사츄이의 B.P International 호텔에서 예약이 누락되어 룸을 내줄수 없다는 이야기를 듣고 인근 유마테이 전철역입구에 있는 Eaton hotel로 변경하여 체크인을 했고 오후에는 침샤츄이에 있는 HSK 영어학원에 등록했습니다.

 

 

 

2일차에는 코스웨이베이에 있는 홍콩지사를 방문하여 지사장님에게 인사를 드렸고 오후에는 트램을 타고 샤우 케이 완으로 가서 홍콩섬의 일반 가정집들을 돌아보면서 생활방식과 주거문화를 알아보려고 노력했습니다. 

 

아무런 제한이 없는 자유로운 연수로 인생의 황금기라고 할 수 있는 3개월의 해외문화연수의 시작을 알리는 둘째날이었는데요. 자유롭고 책임없이 원하는대로 움직이고 결과를 매일 레포트하는게 쉽지는 않았지만 당시 흔하지 않은 기회라 열심히 배우고 노력했던 시기였습니다.

 

 

 

This is my second day in H.K and I visited H.K branch in Causeway Bay area.

 

Mr.Song and Mr.Park welcomed me and discussed my training direction in one another in our office untill noon. Mr Song is the general manager and Mr. Park is the senior assistant manager in  KCC H.K Branch. And I met Mei who is a woman in local personel, and I had a lunchtime with her in the chinese restaurant of the B2 floor at Goldmark building.

 

Actually, I cannot but have the opportunity to use english with her in this office and hear the english when Mr. Song and Mr. Park is calling to local company.

 

 

 

I opened an account in HSBC Bank, most famouse bank, for safety my money. It took 1 hour for me to finish opening my deposit account and I was supprised at seeing the HSBC's guard system.

 

They make their guard-system perfectly with thick window on the teller's sound with no attention. They give and make their money using the narrow hole on the table dugged a little toward under the table. I gave my T/C and other documents required foriegn currency account through this hole and then, the teller took it them after pushing the small glass cover toward me.

 

 

 

 

 

It strange for me to see this system but  I knew this will prevent them  from the bank robbery occasionally taken place, informed Mr. Song.

 

Second, the banks in H.K doesn't use the ordering number sheet for the client's  convinience at all against our country. Many people was lined to draw and deposit the money with long line in front of the guard-glass made teller and client.

 

 

 

I got on the tramway, one of the public traffic in H.K, to go to the last station Shau Kei Wan in no purpose. I'd like to look around the Apt. Complex next to tramway terminal since I want to know the residence's life in the old and new Apt. in the same complex. 

 

There are many people with playing basketball and resting under the trees when I was arrived at there. I saw strong steel door for safety in their house and the small Buddist dolls lighted with red color in all house. 

 

 

 

The life condition in average grade in H.K is so bad and they live 4-5 family members in 30-40 sqm dimension. And  I  visited the welfare facility center for children on the ground floor of new apartment building. H.K Childrens Welfare Association manage this facility over 40 place in this region for children and this facility is performed in the library, small conference group for computer, public nersury, playing game and so on.

 

I was so impressed to thid good place, the dedicated management personnel, kindness explanation of the management skill and the registed condition in that place. 

 

 

 

지금 다시 읽어보니 되지도 않는 영어실력으로 용케도 영작을 하면서 이런 글을 썼구나 싶은게 왠지 모르게 자랑스럽네요. 지금은 이렇게 쓰라고 해도 단어도 생각나지 않고 스팰링도 맞지 않을 정도로 형편없는 영어가 되었으니 더 노력을 해야겠습니다.
